I wanted to modernize my bathroom and decided to do it DIY style with a some help. The one big treat was going to be a heated floor. I visited to shops in town to see about different styles of heated floors. WCO sale rep met with me and explained their system. and set up a free in house estimate and measurement. WCO flooring had an option that was prefabicrated that I liked because if it is not done correctly it can start a fire. The person from the shop arrived on time and did the measurements. What a huge plus. It is sadly very rare with contractors to be prompt. He did the measurements and I got a quote a week later. It was $1260 for installation of the cement board as the base, the wire mesh and a layer of mud to seal it in. I did the demo and prepped the floor on my own and I plan to lay the tile on top. The heat mesh was $714 alone. Pricey but again I didn't want to have done incorrectly. I was emailed the quote and responded by email. By the way the card was charged right away and not when it was installed. They are not responsive by email but did answer the phone to get the order placed. And that was evident in later communications. They are not responsive to emails so be sure to communicate by phone or go to the store. When I had placed the order, I was told that it would take a week for it to come in. So I planned to demo and have the floor ready. Well, it took a bit longer. Once I confirmed the order by phone it was two weeks before, they came to install the floor and arrived on time. Well the floor was too big to fit in the room. The install guy couldn't figure out why and the minute I looked at the plans I realized that they did not subtract for the vanity in the room. You can't cut the mesh so they had to make another smaller one. The first guy had to come back again and remeasure. He came on time but he didn't see the his mistake. It took five minutes to show him that the vanity is inside the room and not recessed in the wall like he had on the drawing. This time it only took a week for the install guy to come back but then it was TOO SMALL. He laid it out on the floor and he tried his best but didn't cover the spot right outside the tub which after the spot in front of the toilet was the whole point of a heated floor. He took a phone call and then I got on the floor and rearranged the wires so that areas that I would actually stand would be heated. Not the space under the vanity or area that I have selves for extra storage. At this point I was not going to wait because I have already have been one month without a functional bathroom. So after three hours on the first day, five hours on the second day and two visits for measurements it was installed. I have to get an electrician to do the wiring so I don't know if it works yet. And then the final note, when you are working with the public please keep your political views to yourself. I don't want to have to debate the moral standing of your favorite politician. He brought it up, not me. It did ask the guy how many of these floors he has installed to see if this was just an example of normal work or if it was part of the learning curve. I got a half answer. There were five different systems. But by then he had been in the house for five hours so I didn't press. I just wanted a professional job which I mostly got. I did send them this review to see if they wanted to respond and basically said that they welcome customer feedback but it was the manufacture and not WCO flooring that made the product the incorrect size, which I doubt.

UPDATE: Another $300 for the electrician to wire it up and and an unknown amount to redo the floor so that it is even. I regret this project and would not use them again.
