I wrote a letter about a year ago telling Mon HealthCare about these issues, but they never responded.
We chose Mon Health Equipment & Supply following my husband’s hip replacement surgery. A hospital bed was delivered and set up within minutes of being discharged. All our questions were answered thoroughly & professionally . When the bed was no longer needed, a quick phone call to schedule pickup was convenient, too!
I have been with Mon HealthCare since I got my first CPAP in 2010. At first, they were great. They answered all of my questions, helped me get going and provided supplies on a regular basis. Over the past couple of years, their service has gotten worse. Here are some examples:
They went to an automated calling service that reminds you when you need supplies. You can order through this service. Several times, I have ordered and have not received my supplies. When I called, I was told that my prescription ran out. But, the automated system clearly stated that they would contact my physician to get a new prescription. They never did.
I've had more trouble with this company. I know that I'm not the only person in the area who uses CPAP and has a small head & face, but they refuse to order a size small (I've tried with two different mask styles) if it's not already in their system. Since everything in their system has been added at some point, I don't understand the problem. Their automated phone system is cumbersome and has sent me the wrong product on more than one occasion, as well.
Most recently, when wanting to order a new CPAP (mine is over six years old), I was told my insurance would not pay for it and I had to pay $5,200. You can now buy new CPAPs for under $1,000 online. I called my insurance and they agreed to contact Mon HealthCare to straighten this out. I told them to never mind, I'm changing providers.
Screwed up big-time in getting urgent and essential custom compression stockings
Last year, I ordered supplies in late November and didn't get them until mid-January because my prescription had run out and then they kept forgetting to order them.
They once sent me the wrong mask which I had to return. I also once received a chin strap that I never ordered nor used. The chin strap was still on my auto-order list even though I asked them to remove it twice.
It is too bad that their service has gotten worse. Fortunately, there is competition in Morgantown.
