I just looked at the site and these gowns are STILL listed as in stock. This has to be bait-and-switch.
I spent a lot of time online deciding where to take my daughter to shop. This place SAYS it has lots of dresses online that made me decide to make the 90 minute drive.
I know this is a long review and not the best. However, taking it all in now. I Hope that other take into consideration that regardless of spending $200 or $500 of a gown for yourself or your daughter that you look at where it is coming from. If they do not care for stalk dresses they intend to sell you I don't feel they care much about the customer!
Almost all of the dresses I asked to see were in fact NOT in the store and I got one excuse after another as to why they're online and listed as in stock.
There was one particular dress both of us were dying to see and for her to try on. The website lists in stock in two colors both in her size range. Neither were there and they said the blue must have sold on Saturday (this was tuesday).
Very disappointed with the sales tactics. I would go elsewhere
People are rude and none of the dress are pretty, plus they are made cheap
When i went in no one helped me or my friends. So we just started looking around for a dress & as i was looking other girls were walking in & they were all over them. They kept asking them questions & following them around, granted i didn't look my best i had on sweat pants & a baggy t shirt. I thought it was so rude how no one was helping us. No one said anything to us, I had a couple dresses in hand & I walked up to someone to ask if i could have a dressing room ( which are a little space with a very short curtain hanging up) then no one would help me zip into my dress so my friends were helping me do it. Then after trying on some dresses I decided to go into the bathroom & my goodness it was AWFUL! if it wasn't for the fact that I really had to go to the bathroom i would've just walked right out. It was so bad that I wanted to throw up & walk out. I would never go back to this place they are not helpful what so ever, & their bathroom was disgusting !
My daughter found a Sherri Hill at double the price of the ones I wanted to see. When I said we could order this closer to home and should still look for the blue gown, the manager made sure my daughter heard her say that Sherri Hills sell out months and months in advance and that it's very likely this dress could no longer be ordered. Of course my 16 year old was in a panic hearing this and insisted on leaving with the gown in hand.
Had a great in store experience, I don't think the selection is amazing but my sister found the dress she wanted so we paid in full for the dress that day. About two weeks later we found out two other girls from the same school had the dress - and even though there were no alterations to the dress, it was unworn and we had a receipt - they would not even exchange it. I buy almost everything from Nordstrom and I got burned supporting a small business who was unwilling to help us make my sisters day special. Do yourself a favor and look for your dresses somewhere else that has a better policy regarding customer service. Most of the brands they carry are carried elsewhere so this shouldn't be an issue.
I have to say that this was by far one of the least organization establishments I have been in. First of all the location on the website is incorrect. Looking back I wish I would have turned around and went else where. When I did finally get to the store I was greeted and asked how I could be helped. Note that I am 30, clearly not going to a high school dance but non the less I am in need of a gown for an up coming event. They asked what I was looking for as far as size and color. Topically I go for black and about a size 4, yet open to suggestions. I was lead to a long rack of black dresses in my size range. I was told to start there, allowing 5 gowns at a time. As I began searching and I mean searching, it was no easy task. I began selecting dresses, it was difficult. It was overwhelming. As I picked a sales clerk would come take my selection and disappear with it. When I went back to try them on they were hung in a narrow dressing room and as I tried them on someone would zip me and to get a better look at myself in each gown I had to stand in the middle of the store with the one or two others trying on dresses. (Remember I am 30, with two kids, not attending a high school dance) I asked for input, or reconditions, mainly because the thought of having to pick through the mass of unorganized fabric was to much! I must say the two staff members were helpful, as much as they could be. I felt had there been more help when things picked up it would have been easier for myself and others.
As flattering as it may seem being told you look "amazing" in everything. I would have preferred more honesty. A lot of dresses were damaged, Some appeared to have maybe even been worn, they assured me that this was not a Consignment Dress store even though I felt that's what it looked like. I did choose a dress yet as I was going to check out it just seemed that everyone had their hands full. Before leaving I limply asked if they could give me some information so that I could call in with card information and set up for alterations. I want given a piece of scrap paper when I put my info. I left and before calling the next day I decided not too. I could be calling and buying a $600 dress that was flung in a hunger, snagged, who knows.
